Human Evolution: Intro to Anthropology, Grades 4-High School

Come take a journey through time, starting with molten Earth. This science adventure gives club members a big-picture look at where the human species fits in the biological world. Life began as a single cell on our 4.7-billion-year-old planet. How is it possible that humans, complex multi cellular beings, are now alive and thriving on Earth? Physical anthropologists are currently trying to figure out this amazing story. Club members will study the evidence and come up with their own hypotheses regarding our earliest ancestors. Madame Atom will share stories about her meetings with world-famous anthropologist Louis Leakey and primatologist Jane Goodall. And she’ll discuss her exciting field adventures, unearthing and piecing together human remains and teaching language to chimpanzees!
